Church Records: The Scandinavian Countries had a state religion, Evangelical
Lutheran Church, and the official record keepers were the Lutheran
Ministers. These churches had
ministers who came to the US and established churches in the Scandinavian
communities in the US. At times,
their practices of keeping records continued in a similar fashion.
