Church Records:
The Presbyterian Church was officially
recognized at the State church for Scotland in 1690.
Any other churches
were called non-conformist churches.
Old parochial Registers of the Church of Scotland prior to
1855 contain birth, marriage, death, and burial
information recorded in parishes.
